Chile - Summary of Requirements The following protocols for exporting animals to Chile are available through the International Regulations Retrieval System (IRRS). SPECIES - MOST RECENT UPDATE To export semen or embryos of any species to Chile, the AI center or the embryo collection facility has to be approved by the Ministry of Agriculture of Chile prior to shipment. Cattle Effective December 24, 2003, cattle from the United States are currently banned due to a risk of BSE

Note: Chile has suspended the importation of pet birds as of February 22,2006. *For species not listed, the requirements are not known. However, exporters
wanting to ship livestock whose requirements are not listed above, should have
the interested party (importer/buyer) in the country of destination apply for
an Import Permit at the appropriate ministry. This Import Permit will most
likely outline the specific requirements. For species not listed, the requirements are not known.
