Groundfish Science

Management of West coast groundfish fisheries by NOAA Fisheries Service relies upon ongoing scientific efforts in federal, state, and local programs.

Individuals or organizations interested in conducting experimental or scientific fishing off the West coast will need permit information, including but not limited to: Scientific Research Permits (SRP); Exempted Fishing Permits (EFP); and Letters of Authorization (LOA); from our permits website.
