RELATING TO A COMPREHENSIVE OFFENDER REENTRY SYSTEM.
Report Title:
Corrections; Offender Reentry System ($)
Description:
Establishes: (1) an offender reentry system for adult offenders with a legislative oversight committee and reentry programs and services projects, and (2) a one-year pilot day reporting center administered by the department of public safety. Appropriates funds for: (1) restorative circles, (2) reentry programs and services projects, (3) the day reporting pilot project, (4) the administration of community based reintegration programs, (5) the Maui Best program, and (6) cognitive restructuring pilot programs in the county of Hawaii. Authorizes the Hawaii paroling authority to parole committed persons to any county in the State where they will receive the greatest support to successfully reintegrate into the community. (CD1)
