SammamishThe residents of the East Sammamish Plateau area of King County voted for incorporation in September of 1998, and on August 31, 1999, the City of Sammamish became official. Sammamish becomes the 40th city within King County. The City of Sammamish consists of an area of about 22 square miles of the East Sammamish Plateau lying east of Lake Sammamish and southeast of the southeasterly tip of the City of Redmond. Its northern boundary runs along the east boundary of the Plat of Hidden Ridge at High Point, down a line just north of Sahalee Way NE and along the east-west centerline of the south half of Sections 21 and 22-25-6 to 244th Ave NE. The east boundaries are southerly along 244th Ave NE, extending out to create a spur below Allen Lake to the east side of Section 35-25-6, then to the east side of Section 1-24-6 down to its intersection with the Duthie Hill Rd. The southern boundary follows the Duthie Hill Rd southwest; northwest and west along the Issaquah-Beaver Lake Rd, then south along the Issaquah-Pine Lake Rd. to SE 48th St. From there the boundary goes west, north and east to encompass the plats of Cambria, The Uplands and the developed portion of Highland Park. The boundary then goes north to exclude the retirement community of Providence Point, then south again to SE 43rd Way west to the shore of Lake Sammamish. |

KenmoreThe residents of the Kenmore area of King County voted for incorporation in September of 1997, and on August 31, 1998, the City of Kenmore became official with City Resolution 98-009. The new citizens of Kenmore number about 20,000. Kenmore becomes the 39th city within King County. Kenmore consists of about 4,170 acres or 6.25 square miles located between the cities of Lake Forest Park and Bothell and extending to the King County/Snohomish Boundary at NE 205th Street on the north. It meets Lake Forest Park at 55th/56th Ave NE; to property lines between 83rd and 84th Avenues NE, 88th Ave NE, 92nd Ave NE, and Simonds Road NE on the east. To the south its boundary is NE 145th St, Juanita Drive, NE 140th St, and Lake Washington. The vast majority of the city is located in the NE quarter of Township 26N, Range 4E, W.M., with a small portion in the adjoining NW quarter of Township 26N, Range 5E, W.M. All is on the Urban side of the Urban Growth Line.
