Mental Health Ombuds Service for King County

Mental Health Ombuds Service for King County is an independent agency that exists to serve adult clients, and parents or guardians of children who are clients within the publicly funded mental health system of King County. The service provides a way for consumers and family members to address concerns related to mental health care.

Upon complaint, an Ombudsman will research and investigate the situation, advocate for the client's expressed interest, and facilitate a resolution.

The Ombuds Service will attempt to resolve complaints at the lowest possible level. Some complaints will turn into formal grievances if they cannot be resolved. Ombuds Service will also assist with grievance procedures, including preparation for a State of Washington Fair Hearing.
