The National Weather Service in the Twin Cities wants to know if you have observed severe or unusual weather in central Minnesota and western Wisconsin. Information on tornadoes, funnel clouds, high wind, wind damage, hail, heavy snow, heavy sleet, thick freezing rain, lightning damage or injuries, heavy rain, flooding, or dense fog is very important to our warning and forecast operations.
Trained spotters can register and submit reports through the E-Spotter program.
The form below is available for the general public to submit a storm report to the NWS in Chanhassen. Please be as specific as possible regarding the information you provide to us. The information you provide will be used to provide better warnings and forecasts in the future. Spotter reports are invaluable for our verification and training purposes, and are a tremendous help to our warning program.
Important Note
If severe weather is occurring right now, report it immediately to your local Police Department or Sheriff's office. Ask them to relay the information to the local National Weather Service, or if you are a trained spotter, please use the NWS 800 number to report severe weather. Thank you.
