1 Substance use disorders, mood and anxiety disorders, and pathological gambling are past-year diagnoses; conduct and personality disorders are lifetime diagnoses.

2 Light drinker: 3 or fewer drinks per week on average. Moderate drinker: on average more than 3 drinks and up to 7 drinks per week for women and more than 3 drinks and up to 14 drinks per week for men.Heavier drinker: on average more than 1 drink per day for women and more than 2 drinks per day for men.

3 Current drinker: 1 or more drinks in the past year.
