R. L. Stine
R. L. Stine’s writing career began at the age of 9 when he wrote stories and jokes on an old typewriter and handed them out at school. He is now the author of more than 50 books, including the Goosebumps series (1992) and Nightmare Hour (1999), which received a Children’s Choices Award. His most recent books are from the new Rotten School series: No.1-The Great Blueberry Barf Off and No. 2-The Smelling Bee (HarperCollins, 2005). As an advocate of children’s literacy, he created The Nightmare Room Writing Program (Parachute Press and Avon Books), which is available free of charge to educators nationwide. He lives in New York City.
