If you have arranged to contribute data to NGDC via FTP, the new server to use is:
FTP incoming.ngdc.noaa.gov
User = anonymous Password = your email address
Change directories to /pub/incoming/,
make a new directory,
change directory to the new directory,
place your files in the new directory.
cd pub/incoming
mkdir yourdirectoryname
cd yourdirectoryname

If you have arranged to pick up data via FTP, the FTP server/directory to use is:
FTP ftp.ngdc.noaa.gov
User = anonymous Password = your email address
Change directories to /pub/outgoing/mgg/yourdirectoryname/
(cd pub/outgoing/mgg/yourdirectoryname/ )
or use this HTTP link: ftp.ngdc.noaa.gov/pub/outgoing/mgg/
and navigate to your specified directory
do not use HTTP link for files 2Gbytes or larger
If you are an NGDC data manager and want to pick up a file placed in incoming use:
FTP pickup.ngdc.noaa.gov (user anonymous, cd /pub/incoming/)
or use this HTTP link: pickup.ngdc.noaa.gov/pub/incoming/
