Consensus Meeting for Improving the Quality of Laboratory Testing for HIV Surveillance October 19-21 Hyatt Regency Atlanta Goals of the Meeting   To address observed laboratory-related challenges in HIV surveillance and formulate new strategies to improve practiced laboratory methods. Objectives: To review current approaches in laboratory support for HIV surveillance and identify potential sources of laboratory-based errors To propose approaches and formulate recommendations for the improvement of the quality of laboratory test results Products: Suggestions for revision of the WHO/UNAIDS/CDC/USAID guidelines for "Using HIV Testing Technologies in Surveillance" Checklist of potential errors and how to prevent them Methods: Plenary sessions, small group sessions
