OCC Chief Counsel Julie Williams Testifies Before
House Financial Institutions and Consumer Credit Subcommittee
WASHINGTON — Chief Counsel and First Senior Deputy Comptroller Julie L. Williams provided the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency's views on H.R. 5244, the Credit Cardholders' Bill of Rights Act of 2008, today before the Subcommittee on Financial Institutions and Consumer Credit of the House Committee on Financial Services.
The Office of the Comptroller of
the Currency was created by Congress to charter national banks, to oversee a
nationwide system of banking institutions, and to assure that national banks
are safe and sound, competitive and profitable, and capable of serving the
