NIEHS at the Clinical Center
At the NIH Clinical Center (http://www.niehs.nih.gov/research/clinical/program/groups/ea/center/index.cfm) NIEHS conducts research studies with patients who have autoimmune diseases. Studies are performed at the NIH Clinical Center, a hospital dedicated to the highest quality research, in Bethesda, Maryland. In some cases, subjects may be enrolled by their local health care providers.

NIEHS Institutional Review Board (IRB)
The mission of the NIEHS Institutional Review Board (IRB) (http://www.niehs.nih.gov/about/orgstructure/boards/irb/index.cfm) is to protect the rights and welfare of individual subjects and to ensure programmatic compliance with Federal, State and Institutional regulations. The IRB carries out its mission by reviewing, approving and monitoring all research involving human subjects within NIEHS Intramural Research Programs.
