Summer Research

Many participants in NIGMS' minority programs spent this past summer performing research away from their home institutions:

  • CSUDH: Teresa Ramirez and Freddi Zuniga participated in a summer program at Brown University in Providence, RI.
     
  • CUNY, Brooklyn College: Andre Grange spent the summer at Brookhaven National Laboratory in Upton, NY; Yolanda Hillocks participated in a summer program at The Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, MD; Nanna Osei-Tutu spent the summer performing research at CUNY, Hunter College; and Michael Wade spent the summer at the National Institute on Aging, NIH.
     
  • FIU: Alian Aguila spent the summer at the National Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine, NIH; Heidi Morales spent the summer performing research at the University of Rochester in New York; and Damaris Ramon performed research at Tufts University in Boston, MA.
     
  • SDSU: Maricel Gozo received a summer research fellowship from ASM to conduct research at Tufts University in Boston, MA.
     
  • The National Institute on Aging, NIH, hosted MARC students from various institutions across the United States. Photos of NIA's summer students can be viewed online at http://www.grc.nia.nih.gov/students/2003a.htm.
