A Clearinghouse for North Pacific Metadata
The mission of the North Pacific ecosystem metadatabase project is to locate and assemble an inventory of the extensive biological and physical data collected on the North Pacific Ocean's ecosystem, develop these into an indexed, annotated catalog (metadatabase), and make the metadatabase available to researchers, administrators, managers, educators, students, and the general public.
This project is sponsored by
North Pacific Marine Research (NPMR) Program,
NESDIS - Environmental Services Data and Information Management,
North Pacific Marine Research Institute (NPMRI),
North Pacific Marine Science Organization (PICES),
North Pacific Research Board (NPRB), and
Fisheries-Oceanography Coordinated Investigations (FOCI).
This project is managed by the
Fisheries-Oceanography Coordinated Investigations through NOAA's
Alaska Fisheries Science Center and
Pacific Marine Environmental Laboratory.
