Division of Sanitation Facilities Construction (DSFC)
The IHS mission is to raise the health status of American Indian and Alaska Native people to the highest possible level. To carry out its mission, the IHS provides
comprehensive primary and preventive health services.
The SFC Program supports the IHS's mission by providing engineering, technical, and financial assistance to Indian tribes and Alaska Native villages (tribes) for cooperative development and continued operation of safe water, wastewater, and solid waste systems and related support facilities.
Services Provided:
The Sanitation Facilities Construction Program provides water supply and wastewater treatment facilities for individual Indian homes.
Requirements:
Homeowner: The homeowner must be a registered member of a federally recognized Native American Tribe or Alaskan Native.
Homesite: The home and land must be owned or is under contract for purchase by a Tribe, Nation, or a registered member of a federally recognized Native American Tribe or Alaskan Native.
