Rock Band 2: Long Live Mock Rock!
Rock Band 2 is out (on Xbox 360 for now), and all secrets are revealed. "It really surprised me how much a couple of changes can make an already great game even better," says Up Down Left Right AB Start. Gameplay-wise, it's pretty much "the exact same game" as Rock Band 1, says GameCyte, though "Rock Band 2 has drum solos." The Association for Reason and Societal Outreach Now (ARSON) says "the thing that most stands out is the new Battle of The Bands function," which has online band contests. Joystiq played with the new hardware in a "semi-scientific test" and reports the new guitar and drums really are quieter than the original game.

Palin's handlers called the SNL depiction sexist (via ThinkProgress). PoliticalAnimal thinks they should lighten up a little. But it seems Palin hates to lighten up, because she had a tanning bed installed in the governor's mansion (via TPM); Politico confirms, but notes that she paid for it herself. As the media begins to call McCain on his series of mistruths, bloggers call the McCain campaign on churning more out. TPM Muckraker calls thes latest one, "a bridge too far." Even Karl Rove and FoxNews call out the McCain campaign for its mistruths (via CNN and ThinkProgress). Politifact and FactCheck also both slam McCain for his disregard for the truth. And yes, there have been some Obama falsehoods as well, but off lesser frequency and magnitude, says WashPo's Media Notes.
