Summer in the City offers two summer internship programs: one for current high school students and one for current college undergraduates.
High School Summer Internships
The City of Philadelphia, in partnership with the Philadelphia Youth Network's WorkReady program, is recruiting Philadelphia high school students to participate in a six-week paid internship with municipal government beginning in July 2008. Students will spend 16 hours per week in an internship with a City department or office and an additional 4 hours in workplace skills and leadership development training.To apply, you must be 16 years of age, a Philadelphia resident, and a sophomore through senior in high school. Please note that applicants who are not selected to participate in the Summer in the City High School Internship Program with the City of Philadelphia may be considered for an internship with another company participating in the WorkReady summer jobs program; placement in an internship, however, is not guaranteed.

Destination Fellowship
Destination Fellowship provides nine-month and twelve-month fellowship opportunities for recent college graduates and recent graduate school graduates. For more information, please click here. Applications for the post-undergraduate fellowship, which starts in September 2008, are due May 16, 2008. The 2008-2009 cohort for the post-graduate Fellowship is currently being selected.
