GIS Data for Seismic Hazard Maps, 1996

GIS data used to make USGS publications: Open-file Report 97-130, California/Nevada maps, and Open-file Report 97-131, National maps, are available in SDTS and ARC/INFO export format. There are twelve coverage's available for the United States. They were created using the gridded, seismic-hazard values, also available from this website. The coverage's contain complete line and polygon topology.

The files are compressed using gzip. In addition, the SDTS data have been tarred into a single file.

See GENERAL:Anonymous FTP for help on retrieving the GIS data. Also see the 000read.me files in the anonymous ftp directories for information about the contents of each directory and the feature attributes available for the coverage's.
