7"Healthy weight" for adults is defined as having a body mass index (BMI) equal to or greater than 18.5 and less than 25.0, and "obese" is defined as a BMI of 30.0 or more. For adolescents, "overweight" or "obese" is defined as at or above the gender- and age-specific 95th percentile of BMI according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's growth charts for the United States.
