Ohio Energy Project --
This K12 project offers energy education resources for teachers. Few
resources are online so far, but the site offers information about
educational books, games, videos, and audiotapes that can be ordered
for classrooms.
Energy Quest --
aimed at elementary students. This site from the California Energy
Commission includes sections on energy conservation, renewable energy,
famous scientists, and nuclear energy, plus educational puzzles and
games.
ABC's of Nuclear Science --
aimed at high school/college students and interested adults. Offers
lots of information about nuclear structure, radioactivity and radioactive
decay, nuclear reactions, fission, fusion, cosmic rays, and radiation
safety. Includes radioactivity experiments for college or advanced
high school students.
Roofus' Solar Home --
aimed at elementary students. Offers information and tips on using
the power of the sun to save energy throughout the house. Includes
fun activities for kids.
Clean Energy Basics --
aimed at a general audience. This excellent site contains in-depth
educational sections on energy sources from the wind, sun, water, plants,
and the Earth's heat. Also offers practical information for consumers
and businesses.
Electricity and Magnetism --
aimed at middle school/high school students. This educational module
covers static charge, moving charge, voltage, resistance, and current.
Magnetism and how it relates to electricity is also be presented. Requires
the Shockwave browser plug-in.
Natural Gas:
Natural Gas Information
and Educational Resources -- aimed at a general audience.
Offers an overview of natural gas, and historical, political, technological,
and environmental information. Also includes a glossary, a bibliography,
and a guide to associations.
DOE's
Natural Gas Page -- aimed at a college/adult audience.
Contains market data and other business information.
SafeGasOhio --
aimed at a general audience. The Ohio Gas Association is made up of
all natural gas provider companies in the state of Ohio. They are currently
promoting a year-long natural gas safety campaign to all Ohioans.
Telephone:
The Federal Communications Commission’s (FCC) Consumer & Governmental
Affairs Bureau contains information about national telecommunications
issues. In addition, by clicking
here consumers can file complaints regarding such issues as junk
faxes, Do-Not-Call violations and prerecorded telephone messages.
The
American Experience: The Telephone -- aimed at a general
audience. Information about the PBS program of the same name. Includes
a transcript of the program, photos, short historical sections,
a bibliography, and a teachers' guide.
Telephone
History from Tom Farley -- aimed at a general audience.
Photos and diagrams accompany the three chapters of this in-depth
mini-textbook on telephone history.
How Telephones
Work -- a nice overview of how telephones work. Accompanied
by simple graphics.

Telephone Technology Page -- aimed at a general audience.
This is a very good links site; from here you can find information
on practically every aspect of telephony imaginable.
Water:
Water Science For Schools --
aimed at older primary and secondary students. Offers information on
many aspects of water, along with pictures, data, maps, and an interactive
center where you can give opinions and test your water knowledge.
Drinking Water Activities
For Teachers and Students -- aimed at K12 students and
their teachers. The Office of Ground Water and Drinking Water has
compiled resources especially for kids to learn more about drinking
water.
Hydrology Web --
aimed at a college/adult audience. This site contains links to a wide
range of water science sites.
The History
of Plumbing -- aimed at a general audience. Interesting
illustrated articles on plumbing throughout the ages.
National
Institute for Consumer Education -- this site from Eastern
Michigan University is intended to empower people to become informed
consumers, reasoned decision makers and participating citizens
in a global marketplace.
National Association of State
Utility Consumer Advocates (NASUCA) - This association
of consumer advocates has members in more than 40 states and the
District of Columbia. NASUCA's members are designated by the laws
of their respective jurisdictions to represent the interests of
utility consumers before state and federal regulators and in the

Omaha Center for Economic Education provides economic education
resources for all grade levels.
Consumer Information Center --
