Mission...
To conduct basic and applied research that leads to the improvement of National Weather Service forecasts of hazardous and severe weather using observations, modeling, theory, and experimental forecast techniques.

As part of our research mission, scientists at NSSL produce daily forecasts from the Weather Research and Forecast (WRF) model starting at 0000 UTC and extending out 36 hours.
