Hawaii's Marine Protected Species: A Handbook for Ocean Users (pdf, 524 kb). This handbook provides information about Hawai'i's protected resources, such as marine mammals and turtles. It contains guidelines for watching whales and maps of the Hawaiian Islands Humpback Whale National Marine Sanctuary.

Monitor National Marine Sanctuary Brochure (pdf, 279 kb). This brochure describes the Monitor National Marine Sanctuary, which protects the remains of the famous Civil War ironclad warship and was designated America’s first national marine sanctuary on Jan. 30, 1975.
