David Kipen is the National Endowment for the Arts’ director of Literature, National Reading Initiatives, and program director of The Big Read. Kipen has been a book critic and essayist for the San Francisco Chronicle and National Public Radio’s Day to Day, and is film critic for XM Radio’s Bob Edwards Show. He recently published The Schreiber Theory: A Radical Rewrite of American Film History, and a new translation of Cervantes’ The Dialogue of the Dogs. |
