Washington, D.C. — Potential solutions for the nation’s housing crisis and lessons learned will be among the important and timely issues explored when the Office of Thrift Supervision (OTS) holds its Third Annual National Housing Forum (NHF) this year.

The NHF, set for December 8, 2008, at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C., will once again bring together the country’s foremost experts in housing and mortgage finance to discuss issues making headlines across the world.

“The OTS’s National Housing Forum is the premier event for the financial services industry, federal and state regulators, public policy advocates and financial analysts to come together to address the housing concerns of the nation,” observed OTS Director John Reich. “As we work our way through this current housing crisis, providing a forum for bringing leaders together is a key to finding solutions and avoiding a crisis like this in the future.”

The NHF will feature several speakers and panels focusing on the latest hot topics in residential mortgage lending, federal financial regulation, mortgage banking and the securities markets.

The event will be open to members of the news media.
