EnergyFiles: Biology and Medicine
STI Collections and Tools
- Comprehensive Epidemiologic Data Resource (CEDR) - Epidemiologic health and exposure data concerning DOE installations
- DOE Openness: Human Radiation Experiments - Full-text, historical documents describing DOE's human radiation experiments
- ENZYME: Enzyme Nomenclature Database - A repository of information relative to the nomenclature of enzymes, primarily based on the recommendations of the Nomenclature Committee of the International Union of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (IUBMB) and it describes each type of characterized enzyme for which an EC (Enzyme Commission) number has been provided
- GenBank - GenBank® is the NIH genetic sequence database, an annotated collection of all publicly available DNA sequences ( Nucleic Acids Research 2005 January 13;33(Database Issue):D34-D36). GenBank is part of the International Nucleotide Sequence Database Collaboration, which comprises the DNA DataBank of Japan (DDBJ), the European Molecular Biology Laboratory (EMBL), and GenBank at NCBI. These three organizations exchange data on a daily basis.
- HazDat - The Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry's Hazardous Substance Release/Health Effects Database is the scientific and administrative database developed to provide access to information on the release of hazardous substances from Superfund sites or from emergency events and on the effects of hazardous substances on the health of human populations
- Human Genome Project Research - Progress, research, and resources related to the U.S. Human Genome Project
- International Health Programs - Information on international health programs in Japan, Europe and the Marshall Islands provided by the DOE Office of Environment Safety and Health
- Los Alamos National Laboratory Influenza Sequence Database - The Influenza Sequence Database is a curated database of nucleotide and amino acid sequences. It is intended to provide the research community with easy sequence deposit and retrieval capabilities, together with tools tailored, in particular, to the analysis of hemagglutinin and neuraminidase sequences
- Methanobacterium thermoautotrophicum Database - The Division of Energy Biosciences of the United States Department of Energy (DOE) supports research at the Ohio State University focused on understanding the microbiology, biochemistry and molecular biology of methane production with the twin goals of maximizing the use of this biotechnology to convert waste materials into methane as an alternative to fossil fuels, and determining how methane generation and methane release to the atmosphere can be appropriately controlled as a key step in global carbon man
- MITOMAP - A human mitochondrial genome database, supported by NIH grants, a Muscular Dystrophy Foundation Clinical Grant awarded to DCW, a grant from the Emory-Georgia Tech Center for Biotechnology (SBN, MDB, and DCW) and a fellowship from the National Library of Medicine (AMK).
- Molecular Modelling Database (MMDB) - The Molecular Modelling Database (MMDB), provided by NIH's National Center for Biotechnology Information, contains 3D macromolecular structures, including proteins and polynucleotides, and contains over 28,000 structures and is linked to the rest of the NCBI databases, including sequences, bibliographic citations, taxonomic classifications, and sequence and structure neighbors.
- Nucleic Acid Database - Nucleic Acid database provided by Rutgers University
- Protein Data Bank - Archive of experimentally determined three-dimensional structures of biological macromolecules
- Science Research Connection - The DOE Information Bridge (IB) and the DOE Energy Citations Database (ECD) have been replaced by the Science Research Connection (SRC), which contains the content of both. Users of the DOE IB will need to register in order to have access comparable to that of the DOE IB. Provides acces to searchable and downloadable bibliographic records of worldwide energy research and full text of DOE sponsored or acquired scientific and technical information from 1995 forward
- University of Minnesota Biocatalysis / Biodegradation Database - Microbial biocatalytic reactions and biodegradation pathways for xenobiotic, chemical compounds
