JWOD Mailroom Service Contracts Following Agency Directives

In light of anthrax concerns in Federal mailrooms located in the D.C. Metropolitan area, nonprofit agencies employing people with severe disabilities who operate mailroom facilities under the Javits-Wagner-O'Day (JWOD) Program are taking steps to ensure the safety of their JWOD employees and the Federal personnel they serve.

June 18, 2001 Federal Agency That Creates Jobs for People Who are Blind or Have Other Severe Disabilities Honored by White House for "Greening the Government" Environmental Initiatives

The White House has recognized the Javits-Wagner-O'Day (JWOD) Program for its commitment to Federal environmental and other "Greening the Government" initiatives during the 2001 Closing the Circle Awards Ceremony.
March 21, 2001 Committee Partners with DOD Computer/ Electronic Accommodations Program 

The Committee for Purchase From People Who Are Blind or Severely Disabled signed an interagency agreement with the Department of Defense Computer/Electronic Accommodations Program (CAP) on November 30, 2000, making its employees eligible for CAP services.
