In light of anthrax concerns in Federal mailrooms located
in the D.C. Metropolitan area, nonprofit agencies employing
people with severe disabilities who operate mailroom facilities
under the Javits-Wagner-O'Day (JWOD) Program are taking steps
to ensure the safety of their JWOD employees and the Federal
personnel they serve.
The White House has recognized the Javits-Wagner-O'Day (JWOD)
Program for its commitment to Federal environmental and other
"Greening the Government" initiatives during the 2001 Closing
the Circle Awards Ceremony.
The Committee for Purchase From People Who Are Blind or Severely
Disabled signed an interagency agreement with the Department
of Defense Computer/Electronic Accommodations Program (CAP)
on November 30, 2000, making its employees eligible for CAP
services.
