Makah Waiver Request

Makah Request for MMPA Waiver

On Feb. 14, 2005, NOAA Fisheries Service received a request from the Makah for a limited waiver of the Marine Mammal Protection Act's (MMPA) take moratorium, including issuance of regulations and any necessary permits. NOAA published a notice of availability (PDF 46KB) of the waiver request on March 3, 2005.
