Director of Business Operations
Fairchild AFB, WA

As a result of Ms. Nelson’s leadership and initiatives, Fairchild AFB employs over 150 people with severe disabilities on custodial, grounds maintenance and postal service contracts under the JWOD Program. Ms. Nelson is an active JWOD advocate and participates in training sessions for both NISH and the Air Force to educate other customers about how they can support the Program. She has gone to great lengths to illustrate Fairchild’s appreciation of its JWOD employees by hosting a JWOD Appreciation Picnic and, in honor of National Disability Employment Awareness Month, arranging a tour of a KC-135 aircraft for JWOD employees.

Over the past six years, Mr. London has served as DSCP’s primary focal point with NISH for all activities relating to Joint Service Lightweight Integrated Suit Technology (JSLIST), a vital chemical protective item provided to deployed U.S. troops. As a result of his advocacy and support, the JSLIST Chemical Protective Suit Program provided 2,000 jobs for people with severe disabilities at four JWOD-affiliated nonprofit agencies in fiscal year 2003. Contracting Officer
Sheppard AFB, TX

Due to Ms. Little’s innovative efforts, the first Air Force full food service contract that was awarded to the JWOD Program in 1987 is now the largest of 23 JWOD full food service contracts in the Air Force, valued at $17M. Her efforts to create employment opportunities on full food service and postal service contracts have provided jobs for over 600 individuals, ensuring 16 years of support for over 113,000 military and civilian personnel. Moreover, Ms. Little increased JWOD training at Sheppard AFB with her intense two-day PR-3 contract pricing workshop, which included functional representatives, contracting personnel, outside contractors, and NISH staff.
