Ever seen the TV Lost? They have an interesting "sonic" fence. If you try to walk through it it will scramble your insides. Sort of like the invisible fence thing for dogs but scarier.

Mr. Chertoff,
Thank you for taking the time to answer the questions above in the article.

I am confused about the difference between two items. What is the “difference” between a literal fence, and a pedestrian fence? Is one shorter than the other?

I am hoping/expecting the entire “physical fence” to be TALL. And I really am counting on having most all of it done during “this administration”.

Thank you.

I think nearly everyone expected this border fence to be up and built by now. It's been 7 years past the 9/11 tragedy in New York and we don't even have our most leaky-porous southern border sealed off from whoever wants to come across it. In the past 7 years; how many illegal aliens have come across that border into the USA? Millions! Millions!

Thanks for the lesson in fence making as an answer to why it is taking so long. Congressman Duncan Hunter, R-CA said he could have finished the entire fence in 6 months to a year. Even if that was a exaggeration, the fence should be mostly done by now. It has been proven effective, and the vast majority of Americans are glad it is going up, however slowly.
