Subject: Debt Collection Improvement Act of 1996 - Electronic
Transfer Account (ETA)
The purpose of this Financial Administration Memorandum (FAM) is to
distribute the attached notice published in the Federal Register on
Treasury's proposed Electronic Transfer Account (ETA) which is designed
to facilitate the implementation of the electronic funds transfer
requirements of the Debt Collection Improvement Act of 1996. Also, attached
is a Treasury flyer which provides a good summary of ETAs. Please submit
