Chemical
Economics Handbook Reports(http://www.sriconsulting.com/CEH/Public/Reports/)
An index of reports available from the Chemical Economics Handbook
arranged alphabetically by chemical name. The title page, abstract
and bibliography of each report are available online for free. The
abstracts contain useful information about chemical sales and production.
Chemical
Industry Institute of Toxicology (CIIT)(http://www.ciit.org/)
The CIIT Centers for Health Research is a private, not-for-profit
research organization conducting independent research on the effects
of chemicals. The purpose of CIIT is to advance industry and public
interest in the acquisition, evaluation and dissemination of information
on the potential impact of exposure to chemicals and other substances
on human health.
EXTOXNET
EXtension TOXicology NETwork(http://ace.orst.edu/info/extoxnet/)
Discussions of toxicological issues of concern (TICs), toxicology
newsletters, other resources for toxicology information, toxicology
fact sheets, Pesticide Information Profiles (PIPs) and Toxicology
Information Briefs (TIBs).
HealthWeb
Toxicology(http://healthWeb.org/browse.cfm?subjectid=91)
A descriptive list of toxicology sites related to associations,
conferences and events, databases, discussion groups, journals,
government resources and news.
Lactmed(http://toxnet.nlm.nih.gov/cgi-bin/sis/htmlgen?LACT)
Lactmed, a recent addition to the Toxnet system, is a peer-reviewed and fully referenced database of drugs to which breastfeeding mothers may be exposed. Among the data included are maternal and infant levels of drugs, possible effects on breastfed infants and on lactation, and alternate drugs to consider.
National
Toxicology Program (NTP)(http://ntp.niehs.nih.gov/)
Announcements, fact sheets, resources, publications and events are
available from the NTP home page.
Toxicological
Profiles(http://www.atsdr.cdc.gov/toxpro2.html)
Access full-text of the Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease
Registry (ATSDR) Toxicology Profiles for hazardous substances. Both
final and draft profiles are available.
Toxicology
Tutor(http://sis.nlm.nih.gov/Tox/ToxTutor.html)
The National Library of Medicine’s tutorial to toxicology
basic principles, toxicokinetics and cellular toxicology.
Toxins and Disease (http://www.protectingourhealth.org/corethemes/links/2004-0203spreadsheet.htm)
This spreadsheet from the Collaborative on Health and the Environment
summarizes the links between exposure to chemical contaminants and
about 200 human diseases, disorders, or conditions. Classified according
to disease, the web site provides strength of evidence (limited/conflicting,
good or strong) linking the disease with the toxin(s). The information
is based on a review of published scientific research in environmental
medicine and toxicology.
TOXMAP(http://toxmap.nlm.nih.gov/toxmap/main/index.jsp)
Toxmap uses interactive mapping software to help users explore the geographic distribution of TRI chemical releases, their amounts, and trends over time. TOXMAP helps users create nationwide or local area maps showing where TRI chemicals are released on-site into the air, water, and ground. Users can search the system by chemical name, chemical name fragment, and/or location (such as city, state, or zip code).
