US Bathymetric & Fishing Maps
The National Geophysical Data Center is the official distribution point for NOS bathymetric maps, bathymetric/fishing maps, regional maps, geophysical maps, and preliminary maps.
Ordering Paper Maps:
NGDC does not have paper copies of all maps, some are out of print. All maps are available in digital form.
If you want to order a paper copy, contact us and we will let you know if it is in stock, or if it must be custom printed. If the map is not in stock, you may either download the full resolution file to print on a large-format printer at a commercial location, or NGDC can print a copy for you at our office. NGDC's printer currently uses water soluble inks and the cost is significantly higher than for paper maps that are in stock.
Downloading or Ordering Digital Maps:
NGDC provides an interactive map (ArcIMS) graphic selection page (see ArcIMS Map Interface link at left). Map previews in .pdf form, and full-size compressed .TIFF images of maps are available for free download through the ArcIMS interface, or from a list of maps (see Download Maps link at left).
The NOS bathymetric and fishing maps are now also available as scanned images on a series of CD-ROMs. The CD-ROMs are available through the NNDC Online store, or an order form can be printed from the ArcIMS interface for selected maps that can be emailed to NGDC, or printed and faxed.
Caution: The ArcIMS interface is graphics-intensive and may not be suitable for a slow connection.
