Investigator Initiated Supplements (Requires application from a principal investigator of an active research grant)
The federal fiscal year runs from October 1 - September 30. Applications must be submitted at least 30 days prior to the expected start date; ideally 60 days or more to be reviewed and processed. Applications will NOT be accepted after August 1 for funding during the remainder of the current fiscal year. Moreover, start dates cannot be requested for October through December because of the unavailability of new funding during those months. Please send the original and 2 copies, or an electronic copy, of the application directly to NIAMS. These applications do not go to the Center for Scientific Review.
