  When we prepare documents to be published on the World Wide Web, it is tempting to include lots of graphics and color and all the gimmicks that the computer provides us, and sometimes forget that our real goal is to communicate with other folks.  Too often, also, Mrs. Smith's ninth-grade English class is only a faint echo in a dusty corner of our heads, and we pay little attention to the rules of grammar, spelling, and punctuation.  To paraphrase a long-retired Mrs. Smith, those of us who write and speak in public have a responsibility to make our words as correct as possible.  This page will accumulate hints and tips to help improve the effectiveness of the words that we put before the Web-surfing public.
