Multimedia Introduction and Tour

Through our website we research, review and publish link directories on more than 40 victim assistance related topics, totaling more than 3000 links to organizations, agencies and services around the world.  We also present our Virtual Library, an index of online research-class articles, documents, handbooks and guides, listed both by alphabetically and by topic category..

In addition to our website services we maintain a number regional and international Contact Networks of victim assistance staff and related professionals.  Using the power of the Internet for quick communications, our Networks link together more than 600 organizations, agencies and educational institutions in 28 countries.

The strength of VAOnline.org lies the spirit of cooperation and collegiality which exists among the global victim assistance community, assisted and amplified through the use of Internet technology. Our members comprise an international community of victim assistance professionals, program managers, government representatives, academics, researchers, law enforcement officers, NGOs and victim rights advocates.

A piece of news or information posted on our website or broadcast through our Networks an be received by hundreds of individual agencies around the world within minutes, potentially affecting tens of thousands of victims of crime, tragedy or the abuse of power.

Similarly, when an individual or organization needs assistance, we can access the collective knowledge of our members and their organizations, who present a communal knowledge bank deeper and more all-encompassing than any single database or ordinary reference service could provide.
