NOAA/Norman Weather Partners
NSSL is one of five Department of Commerce/NOAA weather organizations located in Norman. The NOAA/Norman Weather Partners are involved in weather research, forecasting and support. These federally funded agencies are:

Radar Operations Center
- The Storm Prediction Center

NSSL's
primary research partner is the Cooperative
Institute for Mesoscale Meteorological Studies (CIMMS) . CIMMS is
a NOAA Joint Institute funded by NOAA and the University
of Oklahoma.
The Norman weather community
NSSL is an integral part of a larger weather community
in the Norman, Oklahoma area comprised of government and academic research
agencies and private sector companies that share resources, interests,
and activities. Many of these organizations, including NSSL, work
side-by-side in the new National
Weather Center .
