Using Weather To Teach Science and Math

March 26, 2002

In going about my work of applied research it occurred to me that there were many aspects of real science that used junior high / high school math to solve, or ideas about chemistry, thermodynamics, etc. that are taught in those years. I decided to start documenting these with short explanations in hopes of providing teachers with ideas they might take into their classrooms. It is my hope that this web site will evolve from these humble beginnings.

My motivation for finally starting to write these up was a commitment to present at the National Science Teacher's Association annual meeting 2002.

Please let me know if you found these ideas useful or if you have suggestions for improvement.

I welcome contributions from teachers and other scientists and will include affiliation and contact information on pages of contributed material.

Thanks!

Daphne
