Interior's Accountability Report
takes a results-oriented approach in presenting the Department's financial
condition by integrating budget, accounting, and program information. By integrating
results-oriented performance data with audited financial statements and the
auditor's report and opinion, the Accountability Report strives to better meet
the information needs of Congress, the administration, and the public.
For a fourth year in a row, Interior attained an unqualified opinion on its consolidated financial
statements. The 2000 Accountability Report was also completed by the March 1, 2001 statutory deadline.
