The endocannabinoid system in inflammatory liver diseases


A post-doctoral position is available at the Institute Mondor for Biomedical Research at the Henri Mondor Hospital that gathers 341 persons (20 research groups).

Research in our group is focused on liver pathophysiology, with emphasis on the endocannabinoid system. We have recently identified cannabinoid receptors (CB1 and CB2) in the liver and demonstrated their role in liver cirrhosis (Teixeira Clerc, Nature Medicine (2006), Julien  Gastroenterology (2005), Hezode Hepatology (2005)).

The project is now to study the role of CB1 and CB2 cannabinoid receptors in inflammatory liver diseases, including alcoholic liver diseases and non alcoholic fatty liver diseases. The project associates mechanistic studies in genetically modified animals and cultured cells, and human studies.
 
The position is open for up to three years ; monthly gross salary is about 3200€.
