Mark Hersam Honored by President Bush in White House Ceremony
Mark Hersam, assistant professor of materials science and engineering at the McCormick School of Engineering and Applied Science at Northwestern University, was honored at the White House on July 26 as a recipient of the 2005 Presidential Early Career Award for Scientists and Engineers (PECASE).

An interactive exhibit designed to teach elementary and middle school students about nanotechnology is on display in the Birck center. The exhibit has been at the Children's Museum of Oak Ridge in Tennessee.

Birck and Discovery Park

At Purdue Univeristy, researchers are investigating some of the most intriguing and significant problems: those in the emerging, highly interdisciplinary field of nanotechnology.

The Birck Nanotechnology Center was built in Purdue University's Discovery Park to create an environment where the exciting scientific dicoveries and projects can flourish through shared talk, shared work, and shared innovation.
