Eleventh RCMI International Symposium on Health Disparities

The Eleventh RCMI International Symposium on Health Disparities will be held December 1-4, 2008, at the Sheraton Waikiki Hotel, in Honolulu, Hawaii. The theme of the symposium Research Outcomes Accelerating Discoveries for Medical Applications & Practice (ROADMAP) embraces the tenets of the NIH Roadmap. The symposium will feature activities within the RCMI programs aimed at reducing and eliminating ethnic and racial disparities in health through basic, clinical and translational science. The symposium will also feature keynote lectures by individuals who have made seminal contributions to improving health and empowering vulnerable populations and marginalized communities. Scientific sessions will consist of platform and poster presentations and workshops will be offered that have been designed to provide attendees with scientific- and career-enhancing skills.
