Ophthalmic Genetics Fellowship

The Ophthalmic Genetics and Visual Function Branch of the National Eye Institute, National Institutes of Health, Department of Health and Human Services is offering a clinical fellowship for a 1-year period, with the possibility of further extension. Candidates must hold a medical degree and have completed at least 3 years of training in ophthalmology.

The successful candidate will train in a rich multidisciplinary clinical and basic science research environment and will participate in the care and investigation of a substantial number of patients with a broad array of inherited eye disorders. The candidate will learn the approach to patients and families with genetic diseases, methods of clinical molecular diagnosis, genetic counseling, visual electrophysiology, the design and implementation of clinical trials, and have the opportunity to undertake ophthalmic and vision research projects in the laboratories within the Branch.
