Background
Larry Hufnagle has worked at NWFSC since 1992. He initially served as a member of the Methods Development Team in the Environmental Chemistry Branch of the Environmental Conservation Division. Larry joined the FRAM Division in 2000. He has a B.Sc. in biology and chemistry from Bridgewater State College, Bridgewater, MA.
Current Research
Larry is a member of FRAM's Acoustics Team, which is charged with providing acoustic assessments of commercially and ecologically valuable fisheries off the West Coast of North America, including the U.S. portion of an established joint United States-Canadian Pacific hake survey program. Larry's research focuses on multibeam sonar. He is also working on developing calibration methods for multibeam sonar systems to be used in quantitative fisheries surveys.
