Documents on CPOL and other military web sites are made available in several formats, based on a combination of factors, including the format of the original document, whether the look of the original document needed to be preserved, the availability of visitors to open different formats, and accessibility for those with physical limitations. These free viewer programs are available for download and installation. Users on military networks should consult your local automation support center to have these programs installed on your computers.

looks exactly like the original paper document.

For the various Microsoft Office files, you can go to the Microsoft Office website at ( http://office.microsoft.com/OfficeUpdate/default.aspx?displaylang=EN) and download a free viewer for each of the following file formats -
Powerpoint (.ppt) - this is a common format for presentation documents.
Excel (.xls) - this is a common format for spreadsheet documents.
FTP If you need an FTP program, you can download free FTP software here.
