CIRCULAR LETTER NO. 465

May 12, 2000

TO: Printing and Publishing Officials of the Federal Government

SUBJECT: Rider Requisitions for Government Paper Samples

The Government Printing Office (GPO) is now accepting rider orders for the popular Government Paper Samples book. This valuable reference tool will contain approximately 85 actual samples of printing papers specified in the Government Paper Specifications Standards Book, No. 11. Last published in 1993, this new edition of the Government Paper Samples book will include samples of papers not previously available.

An actual "swatchbook" of paper varieties, the Government Paper Samples book provides Federal government designers and publishers the opportunity to easily compare the grades, colors, weights, and textures of the wide range of printing papers available for use in their publications.

Although the rider rate for Government Paper Samples has yet to be determined, your requisition prior to production allows the printing of these copies during the regular press run. This results in substantial savings, which we are then able to pass along to you. Please note that the rider rate will apply to single destination, local delivery orders only. Mailing costs, if incurred, will comprise an additional charge.

To take advantage of the rider rate, please forward your requisitions (Standard Form 1) to GPO by June 16, 2000. Please be sure to specify GPO jacket number 185-925 on your requisition.

If you have any questions, or require additional information, please contact your GPO Account Representative.

Sincerely,

JIM BRADLEY
Director, Customer Services
