REANNOUNCEMENT OF LARGE-SCALE COLLABORATIVE PROJECT AWARDS

National Institute of General Medical Sciences

The purpose of this announcement is to notify potential applicants that the 
Large-Scale Collaborative Project Awards program will be continued for 
FY2001.

Applicants should refer to the May 26, 1999 announcement, “Large-Scale 
Collaborative Project Awards,” RFA GM-99-007 for instructions and guidelines, 
http://grants.nih.gov/grants/guide/rfa-files/RFA-GM-99-007.html.  Applicants are 
also advised to refer to the NIGMS glue grant Web site, 
http://www.nih.gov/nigms/funding/gluegrants.html, for additional information.  
Most importantly, applicants are requested to discuss very early in the 
planning process the eligibility of their proposed large-scale collaborative 
project award application with the contacts listed below or their NIGMS 
program director.
 
The chronology and deadlines for applications to be eligible for funding in 
FY2001 are:

Public Briefing:                   March 13, 2000

Receipt of Phase I applications:   June 14, 2000

IRG review date:                   August 2000

Phase I award date:                Sept 1, 2000

Receipt of Phase II applications:  January 17, 2001

Council review date:               May 2001

Phase II award date:               September 2001

Applicants are also advised that the page limits for Phase II applications 
may be revised prior to the receipt date for Phase II applications.  Phase I 
awardees will be notified of any changes at the time of award of the Phase I 
award.
