Mathematica at NERSC

Mathematica is a fully integrated environment for technical computing. Performs symbolic manipulation of equations, integrals, differential equations and almost any mathematical expression. Numeric results can be evaluated also.

To use the default version of MATHEMATICA, include the line:

% module load mathematica

Note: if the Mathematica module will not load (with this error message), but other modules will, a common problem is a user's client site blocking a fonts server used by Mathematica. In this case, a user could use ssh -Y (instead of ssh -X) to access jacquard/davinci, it will resolve the problem. If a user accesses jacquard/davinci using F-Secure client or putty, we haven't found the ssh -Y equivalence. We suggest a user to try loading the no-fonts Mathematica module. To see current no-fonts options type:

%  module avail mathematica
