News Release 96-73 IMMEDIATE RELEASE Contact: Pam Douglas (202) 874-4700 Date: June 17, 1996 OCC RELEASES CRA EVALUATIONS FOR 112 NATIONAL BANKS WASHINGTON, DC -- The Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) today released a list of Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) performance evaluations that became public during the period of May 15 through June 14. The list contains only national banks and insured federal branches of foreign banks that have received ratings. The possible ratings are outstanding, satisfactory, needs to improve, and substantial noncompliance. Of the 112 evaluations made public this month 33 were outstanding, 78 were satisfactory, and one was needs to improve. The OCC's World Wide Web site (http:\www.occ.treas.gov) offers access to a searchable list of all public CRA evaluations (http://www.occ.treas.gov/cra/rasrch.htm) and to a list of those available electronically (http://www.occ.treas.gov/cra/electric.htm). Only evaluations for examinations begun after January 1, 1996 will be available electronically; they will be indicated by "yes" in the "on web?" column. This month 67 electronic evaluations are being posted.
