March 16, 2004- N'Dee Bii Fitness Center was originally built in the 1970's as a one screen movie
theater. Over the years it has been converted into an assembly hall for concerts and pageants. In the spring of 2002 the
White Mountain Apache Tribal Council approved a resolution to begin the process of converting the building into a fitness center.
The renovation
process began in April of 2003 and is little over 5,000 sq. ft. It contains three seperate workout areas.
The first area is a cardiovascular room equipped with three treadmills, three elliptical runners, and two recumbent bikes.
This room also has a
cardio-theater with four satellite televisions.
The second area is the weight room which is full of the newest and most advance weight
machines in the world and thousands of pounds of free-weights. The gym also has a 100 channel satellite
commercial free radio system. The last area is the aerobics/group exercise room. This room is approximately 500 square feet and is
dedicated solely to
exercise classes such as aerobics, yoga, spinning and kickboxing. The room is equipped with its own sound system including
wireless microphones for large class instruction. The fitness center also has a area for food demonstrations and small class
presentations.
