The career development (K and T) program mechanisms mentioned above are also funded as part of the Clinical and Translational Science Awards. A major goal of the CTSA initiative is to develop a national consortium of CTSA institutions that will work together to transform the discipline of clinical and translational research across the country. The CTSA consortium, through its Education and Career Development component will prepare the next generation of clinical researchers to meet tomorrow's health care challenges.
